In the second of two close senior fixtures on Sunday, Belhus failed by just five runs to match their guests at North Stifford. Like their first team, the third wicket flourished, this time to the tune of 106, in which James Banner orchestrated an undefeated 80, while acting skipper Michael Randall played the backing track with 56. Both batsmen hit eleven boundaries each. Despite the slender loss, it was a good day for the Squires family, who took six wickets. Michael Squires bagged 4-49 from eight overs (one maiden), while daughter Amy took 2-20 from three overs and took a fine catch at cover point to boot. Young Jack Martin-Hussey continues to impress with the ball and this latest venture in senior cricket yielded three wickets at a cost of just nine runs from 6.2 overs, two of which were maidens. For the visitors, Vousden top-scored with 61.
