Paul Bennett hit a magnificent 98 for Belhus and was supported by Joe Joyce's excellent 53, but in the end it was Upminster who emerged as winners in this Essex Sunday League encounter at Upminster Park. There were Belhus runs too for Billy Winter, 25, George Brooks, 15, Michael Cansdale 21 and Chris Baker, 12 not out, but all were upstaged by a match-winning 62 from Upminster's Hammond. With home opener Murphy hitting 49, the park team secured victory at the end of the 39th over.
Top Belhus bowler was left-arm seamer Bradley Sheridan wih 2-40 from seven overs, while Cansdale, Winter and Bennett took a wicket apiece.
