The hard work and dedication put in at practices throughout the season by players and the management team paid dividends at North Stifford on Monday evening as the Belhus U13B team won their first game of the season against near-neighbours Rainham. Belhus were ably led by Toby Reynolds and had U11 squad member Donovan Wright in fine form with a superb 22, before he was retired. Wright struck two fluent boundaries, making twelve run-making strokes in the process. He was supported by number six batsman Craig Dalton, who made 11 runs before he was caught and bowled Howard (2-15).

After a short break for the change of innings, the Rainham reply got off the worst possible start as Belhus opening bowler Elliott Playle took two wickets with the first two balls. He bowled Wren then Light, the replacement batsman, who also received a first ball dismissal in the same fashion. Rainham then rallied strongly through their remaining opening batsman Jackson, retired on 21, while Goff also threatened the Belhus total until he was bowled by Alex Playle for 20. The normally-keen Belhus bowling and fielding did not falter as a tight lid was kept on the Rainham run-chase. Helping to secure the Belhus team's first win of the season was Elliot Playle, 2-8, Alex Playle, 1-27, Dalton 1-8, Donovan Wright 2-7, and Toby Reynolds 2-3.
