In 1968 we became one of the first cricket clubs in Thurrock to establish a Colts section. Since then, our youth activities have increased ten-fold and today we organise and manage competitive and friendly matches for the Under 9, Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 age groups. A number of our juniors have progressed to represent district and Essex County XIs, and all of the captains of our 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th XI Saturday senior teams came through our youth academy. They have also enjoyed being members of our renowned Colts tours to Sussex, as well as the various other senior tours to locations throughout the UK and overseas. Many have also represented the Essex Boys and Girls Clubs at various prestigious venues throughout the UK.

Coaching
With excellent facilities at our main ground at North Stifford Village Green including a year-round, two-lane practice net facility and bowling machines, we have a team of England and Wales Cricket Board qualified coaches most of whom are members of the ECB Coaches Association. They are totally committed to providing our young members with the best possible coaching and training programmes so that they may fulfil their potential, and are dedicated to ensuring that they have a fun and enjoyable experience at our club that has a county-wide reputation for its friendly environment.
Child Welfare and Protection
We have adopted the ECB's 'Safe Hands - Cricket Policy for Safeguarding Children', and all of our coaches and other members who are involved in youth cricket have been subjected to CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) vetting procedures. We also have two appointed Child Welfare Officers who are responsible for ensuring the safeguarding, protection and the general well-being of our younger members having achieved the prestigious ECB 'Clubmark' and Sport England 'Focus Club' Accreditations.
